Happy New Year!

It's hard to believe.  2013 is already here.  It makes me wonder where the last year has gone.

Yesterday, we were singing at Maple Manor, a nursing home we have been visiting for many years.  The sad part about singing at nursing homes is that the audience is always changing.  This time too, I missed many faces.  I know they didn't leave on a vacation, and they're not coming back when the snow melts.  Where did they go?

Everyone we meet is either going to heaven or hell.  We each have an appointed time on this earth.  We don't know how long that time is. The time of our lives goes by very fast, and we will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ to give an account of what we did with our time on this earth.

I challenge each and every one of you, readers, to be ready for that day.  I want to see your smiling faces in heaven.  I want to hear the Savior tell you and tell me, "Well done, good and faithful servants!"

Make this year count eternally.  "Only one life, 'twill soon be past: only what's done for Christ shall last."  We can have a happy forever because Jesus Christ did something eternally important.  He gave His life and rose again to give us joy unspeakable and full of glory.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  --John 3:16

  1. My family and I visit the assisted living place in our area the first Sunday of every month, and I think the exact same thing. "Where did they go?" Good reminder of how we have a big opportunity to save people who literally might be sitting at death's door. Thanks, Bethany!

  2. Agreed.

As I heard someone once say, "What we do in life echoes in eternity."

Thank-you for posting this great reminder, Bethany!
