eShakti Review

A few long-time readers may remember my debut as a model in March 2015 when I did a review for eShakti, an online women's clothing store based in India.  I haven't done any more modeling since then, preferring to leave fashion blogging to...my favorite fashion blogger, Paige.
And...you should probably thank me for that, as I am one of the most boring dressers in the world.  When I find an outfit I like, I stick with it; and I still haven't figured out why when a celebrity wears the same outfit twice, it's newsworthy.

That's part of the reason why when eShakti contacted me to do another review for them this October, I agreed.  I wear my clothes to threads...and their last product--the blouse I ordered over a year ago--is still holding out!
When bloggers, like myself, receive items free from companies in exchange for an honest review, we try to write our reviews promptly.  It's hard to write a thorough review after only a short time of getting to know a product.

Last year I tried my best in my first review and promised I'd be further testing the product for durability.  So, here's my update:
Floral Print Cotton Knit Shirt
1 year, 9 months old
Usually the first place on my shirts to get worn out is the outer upper arm, which rips after too much movement as the fabric gets thin.  I don't see this happening in the near future.  The fabric is high-quality.

My biggest problem has been my washer and dryer breaking the buttons.  Most of my similar shirts have either snaps or very small buttons, which have no problems.  So far I've broken three buttons on the front and one on each sleeve.  (Maybe that's why the care instructions say no tumble drying?)
There is some evidence of wear on the seams (I'm using it as a work shirt now), but considering how many lesser-quality shirts I have sent to the rag drawer in the mean time, I am well satisfied with the longevity of eShakti's products.
I wonder if eShakti is going to love or hate me if/when I write another review of the shirt aged 5 years.  But hey, I still have a dress I wore on New Year's Eve 10 years ago hanging in my closet...so who knows how long this will last?

Black Denim Flared Skirt
Choosing an item from eShakti is never an easy task.  They have 380 items in just their selection for bloggers, and many more in their online store.  They introduce new styles every week, and offer tops, skirts, jeans, jackets, and dresses.  This time, I ordered their black denim flared skirt.
One of the main reasons I seldom shop for clothing online is it's hard to know how something will fit unless you try it on before you buy it.  eShakti tries to address this issue by offering customization for every product.

eShakti asks for the customer's height, and then adjusts the skirt length accordingly for her choice of lengths.  The skirt I ordered is "below-knee" length.

You can order any regular size you want...or you can customize by entering your own measurements, which I did.  And...the skirt fits me perfectly--so perfectly I do not plan to wear it on Thanksgiving.  I think I should have claimed an extra inch of waist for special occasions!

I was also given the choice of standard, shallow, or deep pockets.
I placed my order on October 19th.  It was shipped October 28th, and I received it on November 1st.  Thirteen days from the time of ordering to receipt of the item is a marked improvement over the total of 23 days I waited in 2015!

The skirt seems very high quality, and I'm sure I will love it next summer.  I was regretting getting knee-length as opposed to longer due to the onset of chilly weather this fall, but paired with leggings it should work well.

While I love thrift shopping too much myself to convert to online shopping, I did enjoy my experience.  It's hard to find items that fit perfectly, but with eShakti, having outfits customized and mailed to you is just a few clicks away.
Thanks to eShakti for the opportunity to review another great product! Be sure to check out their website to read about them, and review their wide variety of beautiful products.

  5. I totally agree....I don't like buying clothes online, due to never knowing for sure how they will look or fit before buying. One exception I make is the jean skirts I wear. I buy them from Roaman's, they fit great and are perfect everytime! This is important to me since I LIVE in a jean skirt! I love theirs because they are modest, and since I am overweight, finding a modest jean skirt is even more of a challenge for me. So, these are perfect, and I only hope they don't stop selling them!! I order two a time, just in case. :) Thanks for the review, Bethany!

    1. I love blue denim skirts as well! For awhile I had such a hard time finding any that fit how I liked that I only wore skirts I sewed myself. And I very much dislike sewing! Glad you found a good supplier!

  6. I love it, Bethany. It fits beautifully. I order online clothing all the time. IF you order from the same company all the time their sizes run pretty true. Most companies let you exchange an item for a different size and there is no extra charge for shipping/shipping returns. I have had very good luck over the years. I am like you and wear my clothes forever, too. Nice review. xo Diana

  7. You look lovely, Bethany! I have quite a few skirts and dresses from eShakti and I love them! I am on the tall side so it's hard to find skirts/dresses that go below my knee and with their customization options I can get everything just the way I like it :)

    Have a blessed week! Hugs!

    1. Why thank you! I think I will skip on the modelling career though--I generally prefer to be on the other side of the camera. :D

  13. I, and all of my sisters have bought dresses from eShakti. Most of my 'teacher wear' is eShakti dresses. My second-youngest sister is 5'9" and in Asia, cannot find a dress long enough to wear without pants underneath. Her only long dresses are two from eShakti that Mom and Dad bought for her birthday a year or so ago, she loves them. But they don't ship to Malaysia, at least not last time we ordered, so it's a complicated matter of ordering ahead of time when we know someone's headed over for a visit to our corner of the world.

    1. Oooh, that doesn't sound very convenient! I guess I will hope for your sister's sake that they add shipping to Malaysia. I know they just started shipping to Australia and Singapore.
