A Welding Table

In one of my first blog posts, I wrote about welding for the first time.  Since then, I've made many very simple welds, tacking rebar together to reinforce the concrete pads we make for propane tanks, but I am by no means a real welder.

My brother, Daniel, on the other hand, takes welding seriously.  Would you like to see him at work?

Also check out this video for a demonstration of a seed box flipper, which my papa--a state certified welder with 35 years of experience (and our welding instructor)--designed and created.

Carson Welding and Concrete is on Google+ and Youtube.  Thanks for watching!

  8. My sound won't work, Bethany, but I watched the production. He is very talented...and that is really an art form when all is said and done.
I noticed, too, that you have one of your bias cut skrts on. I love the way it moves when you walk. xo Diana

  13. Hi Bethany, I know almost zero about welding but sure enjoyed watching the video. What a sturdy table! Nice work by your brother. From my previous apartment in downtown I could see construction underway on new concrete and steel highrise buildings. They use a lot of welding as those buildings go up. I often thought those welders were probably making a very good wage due to the speciality of the skill. Given the forces at work, a welder must really know what he/she is doing. Nice work on the video as well and thank you for sharing. John

    1. Yes, welders do make pretty decent wages, and I imagine on the type of construction you were watching they'd have to do a great job or face dire consequences (it wouldn't be nice if they did poor welds and the buildings collapsed)!

  15. So neat. You have a talented brother and I bet with a little practice you'd give him a run for his money.
