Last weekend my sister, mother, and I went thrifting in Iowa Falls, and enjoyed some time walking by the Iowa River. The day was beautiful, and the trees were full of singing birds. So, without further ado, I present the beautiful view.
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake." --Psalm 23:3

Forgot to say I really, really love that quote by St. Augustine! I had never heard that one before. Aimee
DeleteIt's a wonderful thought--reminds me of the verse from "It is Well With My Soul": And Lord haste the day when the faith shall be sight, the clouds be rolled back as a scroll, the trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend. Even so, it is well with my soul... What a happy day that will be!

ReplyDeleteThe Polish countryside must be beautiful then.
DeleteThe little yellow bird tucked away is so beautiful. Your focus is very clear in these photos. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine! Besides the goldfinch and nuthatch I have pictured, I saw a goose and her goslings, orioles, cardinals, and more...but not all of the birds were cooperative in letting me take their pictures!
DeleteLovely nature post, Bethany! I love bird watching and always enjoy photos of them. Yours are gorgeous photos. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed stalking the birds...though my neck did get a little tired from looking up into the trees to find them. Some had the audacity to fly away every time I zoomed in and got into focus! I was happy these two were more kind.
DeleteWow. Your photographs left me speechless at the incredible beauty you captured with such craft and care. Lovely post. I thoroughly enjoyed the eloquent words, as well. What a beautiful place this is!

DeleteGreat spring time images! I don't think I could deal with more than one cat - I don't know where I would get the time to mess about with both of them!!
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
Ahh, too bad! I have a feeling that any cat in your home will live a good life. We do still have a few weeks till we have to find homes for our kittens though. A couple years ago I ended up yodeling in the park trying to give away kittens...hopefully it will be a little easier this time.
DeleteYour pictures are really awesome and combined with great sentences.
ReplyDeleteThanks Enrique!
DeleteWonderful photos all of them! I love the butterflies and the cute little frog.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gunilla!
