"Let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing." --James 1:4
Patience is not a virtue easily acquired. James tells us that the trying of our faith worketh patience. God has given us many promises, some of which may seem impossible. He promised Abraham when he was nearly 100 years old and his wife Sarah was 90 that they would have a son. Was this humanly possible? No. But they believed God, and with God all things are possible.
It's easy to have faith right after a promise has been made, but 2 or 3 years later it can be hard to still have faith.

ReplyDeleteHello Bethany. It is good to meet you and thanks for dropping by my post.
ReplyDeletePatience.....I am learning that patience is acquired more readily the more we learn and practice living in the present moment.....not worrying about the past or the future for that moment. My grandmother would always tell her grandkids that 'patience was a virtue'. She didn't say how difficult it could be.
Good advice! As the song goes, "I don't know about tomorrow; I just live from day to day. I don't borrow from its sunshine for its skies may turn to gray. I don't worry o'er the future for I know what Jesus said, and today I'll walk beside Him; for He knows what is ahead."
ReplyDeleteWonderful post, Bethany! Thank you for sharing the truths of God's Word. Have a beautiful week :)
